Ps4 hot shots tennis12/18/2023 Lots of sarcasm there if you didn't pick up on it. Match play has been easy and to only get their costume, which I can't wait to put on skirts and run around in "cosplay" as a male avatar. It's way too hard to see the left to right that I had to zoom down to the ground to watch for the faintest little dot moving left to right. Which leads to the left to right break indication on the greens. **** are all four golfers out at once as if it's speed golf? Is it a way to distract from the lack of effort put into each character? It definitely is distracting when getting up to hit. Why?!? Was that a big complaint that there needed to be more button mashing? Not to mention timing/delays seem to be a little suspect too.Īs I haven't done the online portion of it yet, I'll touch on the match play and tournaments. Three tap putting?!? I nearly lost my mind. It's not that I had to read through them, but again it was the feeling of being in 2000, not 2017. Not sure why the dialogue box wasn't narrated but it wasn't. Give me some sort of feeling like I'm on a next gen system. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting real to life characters but I was also expecting a step up from Hot Shots. The characters had me wondering if I was on a PS4 or Nintendo Wii. I don't quite understand the 10's form other reviewers.įor starters the graphics. I waited for the latest Hot Shots Golf to come out, so much so that it was my very first pre-ordered game, only to be disappointed. As is this game is yet another eg of a beloved series ruined by the all mighty dollar. Give us graded tours keep this dirty custom clubs far away from those tours and the score would get a bump to a near 9. Online is pitch and putt pay to win garbage. But online is a bare bones version of what it was in past titles, no graded tours just four man lobbies with everybody rocking maxed out custom clubs. Once I've played through the single player and learned the mechanics and courses I want to hop online and have some real fun competing against real people. This is my issue, single player is fun and all but online is where this game shined for me in the past. But here lies another issue, upgrading them is randomly generated and you could spend the money or grind it out and end up with custom clubs that still won't let you compete against the 90% of people who play online with maxed out custom clubs. A serious slow grind! Or you could pay to upgrade them. Thing is once you get that far those tours aren't fun or challenging, just a grind to try and earn gems. At then end of the single player game you unlock special tours that let you earn gems to upgrade the custom clubs. I enjoyed the single player game until near the end when you get rewarded your first set of custom clubs that need to be upgraded. My only game play related complaint was the removal of advanced swing, I had to adjust to my one and only option of traditional, this was forgivable and I learned the traditional style pretty quick and I thought all was well. The core gameplay is great, it's looks and feels like all the great HSG games of the past. It's a step back from out of bounds and has some serious pay to gamble at a chance to win loot box esq issues when it comes to online play. I won't say there isn't enjoyment to be had here but a lot of what I wanted and expected just wasn't here and some of the courses are just plain mean to people who want to use shortcuts.Īlso 3 taps for putting is just plain dumb and a waste of time when putting from 3 ft or lower as you have to wait for it to go alllll the way up and back down. Cattails in the water, that 1 tree all by itself in the middle of the course and hanging at an angle to stop your ball from reaching the green, and the list goes on. Most short cuts and bounces have hazards placed there for the sole purpose of stopping you from using them. This time around it seems rious, but still cartoon-ish. from the hole because aiming your ball down a mountain hill isn't exactly accurate but it sure was damn fun. Maybe that's my fault since I played most up to this point like giant mini golf courses, using mountain bounces and hills to hit greens long before you were suppose to. I can honestly say that after playing a few Hot Shots golf games I came into this game with high hopes only to have those hopes dashed to bits.
